Running the pump during freezing conditions helps reduce the chance of water freezing inside exposed plumbing and equipment.
Confirm that circulation is actually working
Check that the pump is primed, water is returning to the pool, baskets are clear, and valves are positioned correctly.

Exposed plumbing and equipment may need additional protection depending on the temperature, wind, duration of the freeze, and equipment location.
Do not ignore a power outage
If circulation stops during a hard freeze, the situation may require immediate attention to reduce the risk of damage.
